We loved our stay at the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, FL. It is one of the most unique and historic hotels in America. The Moorish Revival-style hotel opened in 1888 as a lavish winter getaway for the rich and still maintains a lavish atmosphere today. During our stay at the Casa Monica Hotel we experienced a warm ambience and friendly staff.
The Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, FL is one of the oldest hotels in the United States and is a member of the National Trust Historic Hotels of America. The Casa Monica was decorated for St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights celebration when we took the photo above. We found the architecture, fountains and ornate artwork at the hotel to be exceptional. This elegant boutique hotel offers fine dining in its 95 Cordova restaurant and cocktails in the Cobalt Lounge. Even if you’re not a guest at the hotel, it’s still worth a visit. You can enjoy the restaurant, lounge, art gallery, and coffee shop all while admiring the beauty of this historic hotel.
The Casa Monica’s intricate balconies, hand painted Italian tile and Moorish Revival-style architecture make this hotel one of the most attractive hotels in Florida. The lobby, decorated in fine Spanish tapestries, fountains and lavish chandeliers has the feel of an elegant Moroccan hotel and the courtyard pool deck was outstanding.
Casa Monica Hotel features an arched carriage entrance and valet parking. There are several attractive shops and an art gallery at the hotel that we always make time for during our visit. There’s a Starbucks coffee and pastry shop inside the hotel lobby. We found the outside terrace the perfect spot to relax and enjoy our coffee…what better way to spend some quite time in St. Augustine?
The Casa Monica Hotel, located at the corner of Cordova St. and King St. is right across from the Flagler College and the Lightner Museum. Conveniently located, you can walk, take a carriage ride or trolley to nearby historic attractions, shopping and restaurants.
The guest rooms in the Casa Monica Hotel are decorated with Spanish style furnishing. During our stay we enjoyed a room with a four-poster wrought-iron bed and mahogany tables. The art work on the walls depicted the earlier years in St. Augustine which was interesting to see. The bed was very comfortable and the room exceptionally clean.
The bathroom in the Casa Monica hotel was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean.
The amenities provided by the Casa Monica during our stay were perfect. The Starbucks coffee and organic tea in our room made our stay very enjoyable.
