Hi Mike. We did not use a tour guide when we visited Italy. We were fortunate enough to have family living in Europe. They took us on a tour of their own that we thoroughly enjoyed! We visited Palazzo Contucci Wine Cellar during our stay in Montepulciano. You can visit their website http://www.contucci.it/it/ to see if that is something you may be interested in doing. You can get information about their winery and possibly others in the Tuscany area from there. Have a great trip!

Tuscany has some of the most magnificent views we have ever seen and you are correct, they are reminiscent of wonderful old Italian paintings.
