What a wonderful account of your time spent in Montepulciano and the surrounding area. It is a most beautiful place and we can't wait to return. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us in such splendid detail!

Have just come across "You Should Go Too" Love your writing on Montepulciano.I am Australian; my husband & I lived in Montepulciano
in Via Talosa a few doors down from Palazzo Contucci, for 8 months across three seasons, autumn, winter & spring, using it as a base to travel around Italy & other close countries. We returned a few years later for 2 months in autumn. There are Vias & Vicolos we still have not found even in all the time we were there. Your description does it justice.I could go on forever about "Monte" as our granddaughter calls it.After our home valley in Queensland the Val D'Orcia is my most favorite place in the world. No matter which time of day or time of year, there is always a special feeling here.I would find any excuse to go for a drive out from Montepulciano to San Quirico D'Orcia via Pienza then back via Monticchiello. A visit to the Gallery Cerri showing the works of Claudio Nicoli is a must, Alberto's Tabacci has some good souvenirs, our favorite cafe was Polizano on the Corso.
Then on our second visit Michelle & Nicco opened Bar Al Tocco on Via San Donato where I took my early morning caffe and cornetto.
You have made the memories come exploding back.
