In reply to Speedy Tripster. We did indeed get lost in Venice - many times! Looking for interesting places and things to photograph was even more enjoyable to us the more we wandered around so we were perfectly happy to get lost.

Venice is great and getting lost there is guaranteed!
I still found getting around by foot was the best way for exploring the old city…
It was strange to feel that much of the city seemed deserted or people kept their houses locked (?). More tourists than locals everywhere!
